First Meeting

This is one of the most difficult stages. There are quite a lot of cars out there, those are in various stages of their life. The difficulty is to find a car in fair condition. The infinity of factors will influence the process and the end result. We found our beauty with barely any rust with matching chassis and engine numbers to documentation. The car body was never deformed by any accidents which assures a good fit for the original parts and your safety.

StrippingDown

Once we find the car we bring it into the workshop and strip it completely naked to understand what are we dealing with. Mostly in this phase, you would also uncover the unpredictable factors. Those small things that you can see when you view the car before purchase: non-original parts, custom modifications, bodywork after accidents, etc… Some parts will go-to cleaning and polishing, some will be restored, some have to be thrown away and replaced with originals that we hunt for. That is where the project can easily get stuck for a long while. In our case, the front seats were not original. For people in the industry, this is not a secret, that those seats are very rare and hard to come across in good or acceptable condition. We put a lot of effort to find a pair of seats that we completely reholstered and restored. They look amazing and feel exactly like the original. Photo of new seats can be found later in the “Assemble” stage.

Cleaning and Polishing

When we take the car apart we sort the parts into a few categories. Sanding, polishing, restoring and garbage. Most of the cleaning is done manually, with attention to detail and meticulous patience since we don’t want to damage any original parts. Those are many, many hours of manual labor. Once we are done we move on into the most exciting stage or assembling everything with hope to hear the engine roar. In this stage, we also determine what is missing and should be hunted to complete the car to the fullest. Some parts take months to find on the market due to scarcity.

Paintwork

After we disassemble the car into pieces we send it to our partners to do paintwork. The previous paint is removed, the car is cleaned and freshly painted. The paint has a very specific methodology of application to achieve the highest possible quality and give it the original look. We must admit, the color the car had was not really appealing to us when we found it first. It was a bit dull… But after we painted it into Bahama Yellow, the original paint that came from the factory, the car was stunning. Don’t be mistaken, the car is painted also on the bottom. The clean, black color looks amazing in contrast with the Bahama Yellow.

Assemble

Assembling is the fun part, but at the same time also Tricky. Tricky… Why? Because you’ll notice even small details you want to have perfect. When you work with the right people: experts, passionate Porsche lovers, and drivers, you’ll get a perfect car. During this stage, you will discover quite a lot of history of the car that you didn’t know about before. Any accident or modification that the car went through will be floated when you are trying to put it back together, parts will not fit, you will see gaps and inconsistencies. We were amazed to discover that we didn’t have to do ANY modifications to fit it all back together. The engine went straight in, parts were fitting each other like a glove.

Finished

That is where it all comes together. The original Bahama Yellow looks magnificent. It shines in the sun giving the car a bright, sporty yellow outlook. While on a rainy day you will see the same color as a very rich orange. We switched it on and listened to the engine growl to us after a bit of tuning and tightening the car is now ready and is awaiting the future owner!
